Business Broadband – What Your Business Needs
When it comes to business broadband requirements, the saying “one size fits all” is most certainly not the case. A quick review of ISP’s business Internet pricing plans will reveal a massive difference between the top (premium) plan, and the bottom (budget or low user) plan.
If you are a business owner, or even someone who is in charge of your businesses broadband needs, the onus is on you to find the best deal in the market. How often have you been told by your everyday communications provider to enquire at a rival company, just in case they might have a better deal or offer running at present?
My guess is you have never heard of this happening. Therefore, you are the only one who has the power to cut business overhead costs by planning, investigating, and making informed decisions on your business broadband, and the ISP who provides this service to you.
Determining Your Requirements.
The first thing to consider is how much Internet you are planning on using each month. If you can get your hands on previous usage data, this would probably be helpful for calculating an average use per month. If not, consider the types of things that people are using the business broadband for.
For example, if your business is an Internet Café, you are clearly going to rely on the ability to access large amounts of data on a daily basis. You will probably therefore be searching for the best plan with an “unlimited” data and speed cap, or otherwise one that has a high base usage level, such as 100 GB’s per month, and then a low charge for any excess consumption, such as £1.00 per GB.
Alternatively, if you operate an exporting company, and use your business broadband to check emails once or twice a day, and perhaps make a few changes to the company website now and then, your plan should be on the lower end of the scale.
Look for something with a low base cost, and a low data cap. As a rule of thumb, 1 GB per month is generally the lowest you should ever go. Assuming that you can find an Internet service provider that offers low cost and low limit plans, you should be able to save a huge amount on the cost of your monthly telecommunications bill.
