Roland-Gel Reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) is generally applied in analysing HIV, since HIV is classed as a retrovirus & uses the enzyme HIV-Reverse Transcriptase to synthesise viral deoxyribonucleic acid to be contained into host genome. RT-PCR is a speedy and highly sensitive method for analyzing gene expression, for deciding the presence or absence of copies and for producing cDNA for cloning.
